eArabic Learning Tools Directory
The e-Arabic Learning Toolkit is an initiative to create an online directory of e-Learning tools/technologies and resources for learning and teaching the Arabic language as well as other foreign/modern languages at all levels and across all education sectors.
The project aims are:
- to highlight, categorise and archive new and emerging technologies and tools as well as useful learning resources for learning and teaching Arabic at all levels and in different sectors.
- to encourage Arabic learners to adopt e-Learning strategies throughout their language learning experience
- to guide teachers to adopt and embed the use of learning technology to support and develop learning in their teaching practice
- to disseminate good practice of using e-Learning tools and technologies in language learning and teaching
The Directory
The directory is intended for learners, teachers and anyone involved in supporting Arabic language education as a foreign/second language around the globe.
The tools listed in this directory are:
- Freeware/open source – made available for use free of charge, either for an unlimited time or indefinitely.
- Commercial – you can download the tool from the Internet free of charge to try out before you buy the full version of that program
My experience of using eL tools & resources
This directory is a compilation of eL tools and resources that I have came across while researching the Internet on a daily basis as part of my job (e-Learning Lecturer & Developer) which relies heavily on online research.
As a language classroom practitioner, most of the tools listed here have been tried and tested with my students. This is also true as a language learner myself. My suggestions for usage are purely based on my experience so far.
I would be very pleased to hear your – and your students’- feedback about how you benefited from using these tools/resources and share them with other teachers worldwide via this site.
Dissemination of good practice
You are welcome to use and disseminate these eL tools, as well as the the learning objects (i.e. resources) they generate for educational or research purposes.
