Hi Mourad,
This looks great, I think personally I’d be wary of using it as my sole source of vocabulary, since the arabic isn’t vocalised but I certainly think it’ll be useful as a general reference tool. Very (very) extensive – though I’m not sure how often I’m going to use the three possible words for “paederast” for example…

Thanks for showing us this – it looks great. Will definitely download it. I can’t find any way of using it online (i.e. without downloading the software) – do you think that is possible?

Actually, there is an online as well as a downloadable version.

When I was doing legal translation in French and English, I tried Babylon out for a while. It was good for general translation, but did not always have specialised vocabulary so I ended up using other online translation tools such as Le Grand Dictionnaire Terminologique. Le Grand Dictionnaire goes into a lot more detail, highlights subtle uses of words and has a more varied vocabulary than Babylon had at the time for French. However, with my current level of Arabic Babylon is more than adequate especially as I cannot search through a regular Arabic dictionary yet. In particular, I like how the software integrates into my mac and I don’t need to open Camino to look a word up. I look forward to making more use of this software as my Arabic improves for checking a new word. even now, when working through or reviewing Alif Baa, I can’t always find translations for all the vocabulary so Babylon is a useful tool. Another great thing about Babylon is that you can search for several different languages, it’s great to have that access to Spanish, French, and Arabic in one place.
